# Will AI Assistants Make Company Websites Obsolete?
## No. Personal AI assistants read your website before they pick you, and they finish the booking there when they can. What goes obsolete is the brochure site that makes a customer call to learn anything.
In September 2026, the travel publication Skift asked Meta's new assistant, Muse, to book a New York hotel for two nights. Muse compared properties on price, location, reviews, fees, and cancellation terms, picked one, and flagged a catch with the beds. It never opened either hotel's own website. The booking sites had every answer on one page, so that's where it went.
That test is the fear in a nutshell. It's also the reason the answer is no.

Your website becomes the fact sheet the assistant trusts and the place the task finishes. What goes obsolete is the website that makes a customer call to learn anything.**
Your site still has to sell to the people who tap through. It just has a second reader now, one that checks everything and forgives nothing.
The Website That Does Go Obsolete
Not your website. The version of it built to make a person pick up the phone:
1. **"Contact us for pricing."** An assistant can't qualify you without a price or a range, so it qualifies someone else.
2. **Facts that disagree.** Hours on your site that differ from your Google Business Profile read as uncertainty, and uncertainty loses.
3. **A form that ends in "we'll be in touch."** The assistant was told to book. A form with no time and no confirmation isn't a booking.
4. **A phone that rings out.** Muse and Instinct now phone US businesses for their users. An unanswered line is a closed door.
5. **A security setting that blocks every bot.** Tools built to stop scrapers can turn away your customer's assistant too.
Each of those is a page or a setting to fix, not a rebuild.
A 60-Second Click Count
Pick the request your business gets most. Starting on your homepage, count the clicks to a complete answer: what it costs, when you're available, and how to book. If it takes more than two, that page is the first one to fix, for your customer and for their assistant.
